Our place is tucked away in Prashanthi Nagar, specifically at Sy No 196 197 R G Ngr. It’s a bit of a maze to get back here, but making cables in this spot has been our life for a good while. The address 5 9 286/2/80/A looks complicated on paper, but once you’re in the neighborhood, the rolls of wire are easy enough to spot. With several machines running, it can get pretty loud during the afternoon shifts. This job involves a lot of plastic and copper, so that specific smell is always in the air. It’s not glamorous, but it’s what we know. There are about five of us who handle the packing and the winding. Sometimes the spools are so big we run out of space. Keeping the floor swept is a constant battle with the offcuts. Most of our stuff goes to local builders or shops nearby. Since we don't really have a sales team, I usually handle the orders myself while trying to keep the machines from jamming. It’s a lot of work and my hands are usually stained by the end of the day. We just stay here in Prashanthi Nagar and do our bit. It’s a decent living and being part of the local industrial community feels right.
