S P Farm

S P Farm is out in Patancheru. It’s a bit of a drive from the city, but that’s where you need to be if you want to grow anything. We aren't a big industrial operation. It is just a piece of land where we work every day. The soil here takes some looking after, especially when the rains are late. We grow a variety of things depending on the season. You won't find any fancy office here, just a shed for the tools and a place to sit under the shade when the sun gets too hot at noon. We start early, usually before the sun is even fully up, because that is the best time to get the water going. My boots are always muddy and there is usually some dirt under my fingernails. That is just how it is on a farm in Patancheru. We sell what we grow to local markets or people who drive out to see us. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn to dusk. There’s always a fence that needs fixing or a patch of weeds that started growing where they shouldn't. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. We just plant seeds, watch them grow, and hope for good weather. It’s a quiet life out here, away from all the noise of the traffic and the shops. Just us and the plants and the dirt.
