Orient Cement

This is our spot at Orient Cement in the OCC Colony in Devapur. Specifically, we are at Q. No. E-41. It is out in the Adilabad district, way up in the 504 218 zip code area. Life here is a bit different than in the big cities. We live and work right in the colony. It is quiet most of the time except for when the plant is humming. The quarters like E-41 are where we spend our time when we aren't busy with the cement operations. It is a small community really. Everyone knows each other because we all work for the same place. It isn't a place with big malls or fancy lights. We have our houses and the post office at Devapur and that is about it. The work is steady and it keeps us occupied throughout the week. Sometimes the mail takes a bit longer to get out here but we are used to that by now. Being in Adilabad means we are surrounded by a lot of land. It is a practical life. We do not have much use for big corporate talk. We just focus on the day-to-day tasks. If you come looking for us, you just head to the OCC Colony. It is easy to find once you get into the Devapur area. We have been here a good while and the routine doesn't change much. It is just home and work all in one. There is a sense of belonging when everyone you know is also your coworker.
