Om Sri Sai Raghavendra Tiffin Centre

We have been running this tiffin centre at Sunder Bhavan in Jam Bagh for quite some time now. It’s a small spot, 5-1-259/1, and it gets really busy in the mornings when everyone is rushing to work. We start early to get the stove going and make the batter. There isn't any fancy decor here, just a few spots to stand and eat. People come for the idli and dosa because it’s quick and fills them up. Sometimes we run out of chutney before the morning is over, and we have to scramble to make more. It’s a hot kitchen, and we are usually covered in flour or oil by ten o'clock. The Jam Bagh area is always noisy with traffic, so you have to talk loud to be heard over the horns. I spend my time either at the counter or helping out with the dishes. We don't have a big menu, just the usual things that people like for breakfast. It’s a simple life, and we know many of our customers by their names. They stop by, have their food, and we chat for a minute if it's not too crowded. It’s a local place for local people. We don't bother with fancy signs or anything. We just keep the tawa hot and the food ready for whoever walks through the door. It’s just how things go in this neighborhood every morning.
