New City Tent House

You can find us in Barkatpura at Shop No: 3-4-773. We are right next to the Tulja Bhavani Dharmashala. Most days the shop is packed with rolls of cloth and long metal poles for the tents. It is a lot of heavy work. We go out to different spots around Barkatpura Main Road to set things up. Sometimes it's for a small birthday and sometimes it's a big wedding. We have those old plastic chairs that everyone uses. They are a real pain to stack after a long night. The sun gets really hot when we are out on a field putting up the canopy. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. We just write everything down in a big ledger book on the desk. Sometimes we run out of a certain color of fabric and have to scramble to find more from our neighbors. My workers have been with me for years. We know the shortcuts around the neighborhood to avoid the worst traffic. The dharmashala next door is a good landmark for people trying to find where we are located. It gets noisy there during festivals. We keep our poles and stuff in the back area. It’s mostly organized, but when three events happen on the same day, it gets a bit chaotic. We just try to get the tents up before the guests arrive. It’s hard work on your back and hands. We take our tea breaks across the street.
