Navkar Tapes

If you ever go through Gowliguda Chaman, you know how crowded it gets with all the shops and the people moving about. We are right there at 15-3-369 to 370. Navkar Tapes is basically a lot of rolls of tape and a few of us trying to keep it all sorted. The building is old, like most things in this part of the city, and the stairs are a bit narrow. We spend a lot of time moving boxes around and making sure the right tape goes to the right person. It's dusty work, and your hands usually end up feeling a bit sticky by the end of the day. There is no air conditioning in the main area, so we keep the doors open to get a bit of a breeze, even if it brings in the noise from the street. The tea man comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take our only real break. We don't use any fancy software to track things; we mostly just use big ledgers and our memory. It has worked for us for years. People come in and out all day, often looking for something specific, and we do our best to find it in the stacks. It’s a simple life, really. Just tapes and labels and plenty of hard work in the middle of a very busy market area that never seems to stop for breath.
