Anand Wood Crafts

Our workshop is tucked away in the Happy Trade Centre, right on Sarojini Devi Road. Being near the Clock Tower means there is always a lot of movement outside, but inside Anand Wood Crafts, things move a bit slower. Woodwork isn't something you can rush if you want it to look right. We have saws, sanders, and piles of timber taking up most of the floor space at unit 62. The smell of sawdust is pretty much stuck in our clothes forever. We started this because we liked working with our hands. Some days are spent just sanding down a single piece of wood until it feels smooth enough to touch. It gets very dusty, and we have to sweep the floor three or four times a day just to see the ground again. We don't have a receptionist or a glossy catalog to show people who visit. Usually, someone just walks in through the door and asks if we can fix a chair or build a custom shelf for them. We take on whatever comes our way, as long as it involves wood. The light in the building isn't the best, so we use a lot of overhead lamps to see what we are doing. It's a small shop, and sometimes it gets a bit chaotic with scraps everywhere, but we know where everything is kept. We've been at this spot for a while now and the locals know the sound of our machines.
