The workshop at A-28/1/15 in the Ida area is where we spend most of our daylight hours. It’s a loud place because of the saws and the machines always running to keep up with the wood that comes in. You can always smell the sawdust in the air even before you walk through the door. We’ve got stacks of lumber piled up in the corners and sometimes it feels like we are running out of space, but we manage to find a way to fit everything. Amar Wood Industries isn't the kind of place where you wear a suit. We are usually covered in some kind of dust or wood shavings by noon. The Ida area is full of other businesses like ours so there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving in the street outside. We have a small crew and most of the guys have been with us for years now. We know each other’s habits and how to get the work done without much fuss. It’s physical work and your back definitely feels it by the end of the shift. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. People just come to the back where we are working if they need to talk to us. It’s a bit messy but that’s just how a wood shop is supposed to look.
