My Optics

Our shop, My Optics, is right across from the T. V. Tower in Mallapet. It’s a pretty recognizable landmark, so people don’t usually have a hard time finding our door. We have been helping folks with their glasses and contact lenses for a good stretch of time now. The store isn't huge, but we crammed in as many frames as we could so people have choices. We do the eye tests right here in the back part of the shop. It is a bit of a narrow space, but it gets the job done. Often, we are just chatting with the regulars who drop in because they sat on their glasses or lost a screw somewhere. We keep a little kit of tools handy for those small repairs that take five minutes. It is just me and a couple of others working here most days. We aren't trying to be some high-end boutique, just a place where you can get your eyes checked and find something that fits your face without a lot of fuss. Mallapet is a busy area, so there is always noise from the street outside, but we are used to it by now. We open up early and stay until the evening. It’s just a normal day of work for us. We clean the display cases every morning to keep them looking okay. Sometimes kids come in and smudge the glass with their hands, but that is fine. We just enjoy being part of the neighborhood here and seeing the same faces.
