Muslim Maternity Hospital

Our hospital is tucked away in Osmanpura. It is mostly focused on maternity cases, so we see a lot of expecting mothers coming through the doors. The place has been running for years. It isn’t some big glass building you see in the newer parts of the city. It’s more of a local fixture where everyone knows the way. The nurses have been here a long time and they know most of the families who come in. We spend a lot of time checking on patients and making sure the new moms are getting some rest, though that’s hard with babies around. Sometimes the paperwork piles up on the desk, especially on busy Mondays. The waiting room gets full quite fast. We don't have much in the way of decorations, just the essentials needed for a hospital. People come here because it is familiar. You might hear the sound of the traffic from the street while you are waiting. It’s just a regular part of life in this neighborhood. We deal with the usual births and prenatal visits every single day. The staff mostly drinks tea in the small break area when there’s a quiet moment, which isn't often. We aren't trying to be anything other than a place for mothers to have their babies. It is honest work and the building shows its age a bit, but it works for the community here in Osmanpura. We just keep going and do our part. Sometimes we run out of fresh towels, but we get more soon.
