Our plant is situated in North Lalaguda, right in the Shanthinagar part of Secunderabad. If you’re looking for us, we are at door number 12-1-1135/4. It’s a very busy industrial spot because we are constantly dealing with ready-mix concrete. The yard is usually full of transit mixers and piles of raw materials like sand and stone. It’s definitely not a clean or quiet place to work, but that’s the nature of the concrete business. We have a small cabin that serves as our office where we handle the dispatch and billing. It gets pretty dusty, so we are always cleaning off the desks. The workers here have been doing this for a long time, and we have a good rhythm going. Secunderabad has a lot of new construction, so we are often rushing to get trucks out before the morning traffic hits. We don’t have any fancy marketing brochures or a polished sales pitch. We just tell our customers when the truck will arrive and what the mix is like. It’s hard work and the days are long, starting before sunrise. We drink a lot of tea to keep going throughout the shift. It’s a straightforward, no-nonsense environment. If you come by, you’ll probably see us in our boots and dusty clothes, just trying to keep the machines running and the concrete moving to the next site. It is a messy job, but we enjoy seeing the buildings go up.
