Working out here at the Onshore Terminal Site in Gadimoga is a bit different from being in a city office. This place is huge. It’s located in the Tallarevu Mandal area of East Godavari. You can feel the sea air, but it’s mostly an industrial landscape. There are pipes, tanks, and trucks moving around all the time. Our days start early because the sun gets very strong by noon. Most of us are in boots and work gear. There is a lot of dust and the sound of heavy machinery in the distance. It’s a massive operation, but for those of us on the ground, it’s just a series of gates and checkpoints. We spend a lot of time outdoors or in small portable cabins. The site is spread out, so you end up walking or driving a lot just to get from one section to another. Lunch is usually a quick affair at the canteen. We don’t have a lot of time for sitting around. Everything follows a strict schedule because that’s how a place this big has to run. It isn't pretty or comfortable, but it’s where the work happens. The landscape is mostly flat and looks the same for miles. We just focus on the task for the shift and go home tired. It’s a long commute for some, but we get used to the rhythm of the terminal.
