Monarch Paints

Our shop, Monarch Paints, is located at Plot No.5-1-485/5 on Jambagh Road. We are right across from the Navarang Theatre, which is a big landmark in this part of Jambagh. It’s a very crowded area, and the noise from the street never really stops. Inside, the shop is narrow and filled to the ceiling with paint cans and brushes. It’s got that strong smell of fresh paint and chemicals that hits you as soon as you walk in. We spend most of our time talking to customers and trying to help them figure out what they need for their houses or projects. A lot of the time, they come in with a small scrap of paper or a photo on their phone, and we have to match the color as best we can. We have an old mixing machine that shakes the cans so hard the whole floor vibrates. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. We don't have a big corporate structure or any fancy titles. I’m usually behind the counter and someone else is out back moving the heavier boxes. The floor is covered in old paint drips from years of spills. We don’t mind it much; it just shows how long we’ve been here. It’s a busy, cramped place, but it’s our life and we are used to the chaos of the city right outside our door.
