Sri Sammakka Sarakka Rock Sand Industry

Our site is over in Ravalkole, Medchal, specifically on Survey No 28, 29, and 33. It’s a big area because you need a lot of room for the crushers and the piles of rock and sand. It is a loud place to work, honestly. Between the heavy trucks coming in and the machinery grinding down the stone, you have to raise your voice just to be heard. Everything here is covered in a light grey dust. We spend our days managing the flow of material and making sure the machines don't overheat. It’s a tough environment, especially when the weather is dry and the wind picks up. We don't have any corporate slogans or anything like that. We just provide rock sand for builders and contractors who know where to find us. The gates open early and don't usually close until it’s too dark to see the piles clearly. Sometimes a belt snaps or a motor gives out, and everything stops while we scramble to get the spare parts from the city. It’s a lot of coordination between the drivers and the operators. We mostly eat our lunch together in a small tin-roofed shed that stays a bit cooler than the yard. It’s just a regular industrial operation where we work hard and go home tired every evening. The local roads can be rough but we make it work.
