If you walk down Jawahar Nagar East in Moulali, you might catch the smell of chocolate in the air. That’s us at Mayaans Chocotech. We are at Plot 14, in that house numbered 40-288. It’s not a giant factory, just a focused little setup where we work on our sweets. Inside, there are machines constantly humming. We spend a lot of time looking at temperatures and making sure the mixtures are just right. It gets a bit sticky sometimes, especially when we are busy with a big batch. The staff here are like neighbors because most of them live nearby in Malkajgiri. We aren't trying to be some world-famous brand. We just like making things that people enjoy eating. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. That’s just part of the job. The office part is pretty small, mostly just a desk with too many papers on it. We usually have boxes stacked up near the door ready to go out. It can get a bit crowded when we have a lot of deliveries. But we like the energy of the place. Being in a residential-commercial mix like this means we see people walking their dogs or kids coming home from school while we are loading up the van. It feels like a real part of the neighborhood.
