Mamatha Maternity Clinic

Our maternity clinic in Kukatpally is a busy little place. If you come by in the morning, you will see a lot of expectant mothers waiting for their appointments. We focus entirely on maternity care, so the whole clinic is set up for that. There are posters about baby care on the walls and scales for weighing the little ones. It can get pretty noisy with all the children around, but it is a happy kind of noise most of the time. The clinic is located in a convenient spot in Kukatpally so that families can reach us easily. We have a couple of delivery rooms and a small ward where mothers can rest after their babies are born. The staff is mostly women, and we have all been working together for a long time. I spend my day checking blood pressure and making sure the supplies are stocked up. We use a lot of clean linens and basic medical kits. It is not a fancy place with high-tech gadgets, but we have what is necessary for a safe birth. Many women come back to us for their second or third children, so we get to see the families grow over the years. It is a lot of work and long nights, but it feels like we are doing something useful for the neighborhood. We just take it one day at a time and try to make sure every mother gets the attention she needs.
