Sree Krishna Ice Factory

Working at Sree Krishna Ice Factory means you are always around cold water and big blocks of ice. We are located at Plot No 68B in the Ida area of Mallapur. It’s a busy place, especially when the weather gets hot. We start very early in the morning, sometimes before the sun is even up, to get the ice ready for the delivery trucks. The machines are old and they hum constantly. You can hear them from the street. The floor is almost always wet, so we wear thick rubber boots all day. We’ve been in Mallapur for a long time. Everyone around here knows the ice factory. We don't have a front desk or a fancy waiting room. If someone wants ice, they just come to the loading dock and talk to whoever is there. We deal with a lot of fish vendors and small shops that need to keep their drinks cold. It’s hard work, lifting those heavy blocks, but it keeps us fit. We have a small room where we keep our coats and have our tea breaks. The walls are a bit stained from the moisture, but it’s a solid building. We don't do any advertising. The trucks with our name on the side are enough for people to know we are still here. It’s a straightforward business and we just keep the water freezing every single day.
