Maa Paints

We are set up at B 15 Industrial Park in Moula Ali, Hyderabad. The smell of paint is pretty much always in the air around here. It’s an industrial area so it’s not exactly quiet, but we like being where all the production happens. Maa Paints is basically just us mixing batches and making sure the colors come out right. We have shelves full of tins and big drums of raw materials sitting around. Sometimes the floor gets a few splashes of whatever we are mixing that day, so it’s a bit colorful in a messy way. Customers come in with samples of old paint or just a vague idea of a color they want, and we do our best to match it for them. It’s a lot of trial and error sometimes. Hyderabad gets really hot, so working around the chemicals and the mixers can be tiring, but we have a rhythm down. We aren't a huge factory, just a local spot where we know our way around a paint can. We keep a ledger of what we sell and who owes what, and that’s about as technical as it gets for us. Most of the guys here have paint under their fingernails and a few stains on their shirts, which is fine because we are here to work. We just focus on putting out a decent product that people in the area can use for their houses or shops.
