Our place is at Hastakala Bhavan, which is right across from the Telephone Exchange at RTC X Roads. It’s a very busy intersection, so there’s never a dull moment. We have a lot of traditional stuff here, mostly things made by hand from different parts of the region. It’s a bit like a warehouse filled with stories, though we don't really talk about it that way. We just see it as a lot of inventory that needs to be organized and looked after. The shelves are packed with carvings, fabrics, and small trinkets that people like to buy for their homes or for gifts. It can get a bit overwhelming because there is so much to see. The staff here knows where everything is, even when it looks a bit cluttered to anyone else. We spend our mornings checking the new arrivals and making sure nothing got chipped or broken during the trip here. It’s not a fancy boutique with soft music; it’s a practical shop where we value the work that goes into making these items. Most of the people who come in are locals or folks passing through the crossroads who want something authentic. We’re just here to keep the shop running and help people find what they’re looking for. The traffic outside can be loud, but once you step inside, it’s all about the crafts. We try to keep things simple and honest for everyone who walks through the door.
