Lepakshi Handicrafts Emporium

Working here at Lepakshi Handicrafts Emporium in Hastha Kala Bhavan is a bit of a unique experience. We are located in Musheerabad, which everyone knows is a really crowded and busy part of the city. The building itself is quite famous around here, so most people don’t have a hard time finding us. Inside, it is just filled with all kinds of things that people have made by hand. We spend a lot of our time dusting off the shelves and moving things around so they don’t just sit in one spot for too long. It is definitely not a modern or sleek building. It has that older, more traditional feel to it that you don’t see much anymore. People come in looking for something specific, and we do our best to help them find it without making a big deal out of it. It gets a bit slow in the afternoons when the sun is out, but things usually pick up once it gets a bit cooler in the evening. We have been here for a long time, and the staff is more like a small family than anything else. We don’t really do any big advertising or have a grand mission. We just open the doors and see who comes in. There is a lot of history in the items we keep here, but we just treat them as part of our daily work. It is a steady life and we like being part of Musheerabad.
