Nikhil Plastic Industries

Down in Prashanti Nagar, on Plot No 16, you’ll find our place. Nikhil Plastic Industries is where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s a straightforward setup. We have the raw materials coming in at one end and the finished plastic items going out the other. The address is a bit of a mouthful with all those numbers, 5/5/35/85, but once you’ve been here once, you won't get lost. We aren't a massive company with branches everywhere. We are just here in this one spot. The air usually smells a bit like warm plastic, which is something you get used to after a few days. We try to keep things organized, but in a small industry like this, there’s always a bit of clutter. It shows we’re working. We don't use fancy slogans. If someone needs plastic goods, they come by, we talk about the size and the quantity, and then we get to work. It’s a simple way to make a living. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't bad. We see the same people at the tea stall every morning. We don't have a big office with air conditioning. We just have our desks near the front and the production area in the back. It’s a practical life, and we don't ask for much more than a steady stream of work to keep the machines hummed up. When the day ends, we just lock up the gates and head home. That is our daily life here in Prashanti Nagar.
