You can find Hanuman Knitters at 75 Hmt Shathavahana Nagar, right opposite the Jntu in Kukatpally. It’s a busy part of town with all the students and traffic from the university across the road. We’ve been in the knitting business here for a long time. Our space is filled with the sound of machines and the smell of yarn. It’s not the quietest place to work, but we are used to it. We mostly make garments and knitwear that go out to shops in the city. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. Most of our orders come from people who have known us for years. The shop floor is usually covered in scraps of fabric and thread, which we try to clean up at the end of every shift. Being in Kukatpally is convenient for logistics, even if the traffic is a nightmare sometimes. We have a handful of skilled people who operate the knitting machines. They are the ones who really keep the place running. We don't bother with corporate titles or long meetings. We just look at what needs to be made and get to work. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it right here in Shathavahana Nagar for as long as I can remember.
