Our shop is in Sri Sai Nagar, which is right near JNTU in Kukatpally. We are situated beside Ganesh Marble on the main Mumbai Road. It is a very dusty area because of all the construction shops and the heavy traffic passing by every minute. We have a lot of ceramic tiles and slabs stacked up all over the place. The floor is usually covered in a bit of white grit from the ceramics. It is a heavy job moving these things around so we are always a bit tired by the end of the day. We have some samples set up in the front so people can see the patterns. The back of the shop is just rows and rows of crates. We don't have fancy lights or a polished showroom. It’s more of a warehouse style where everything is out in the open. The noise from the Mumbai Road never really stops, with all the trucks and buses going past. We spend most of our time checking the stock and helping load tiles into the back of vehicles. Our clothes usually have some dust on them but that’s normal for this kind of work. We’ve been in this spot for a while and most of the builders in the area know where we are. It’s a busy, messy, and very active place to work. Sometimes we even have to move things by hand when the forklift is busy elsewhere.
