Our place, Krishnaveni Medical And Clinic, sits on Plot No 44/1 along Ramalyam Road in Shanthi Nagar. If you are familiar with Kukatpally, you probably know the area well. It’s a busy street with lots of people moving through all day long. We operate as both a clinic and a medical store, so we see a mix of people coming through the doors. Some come in because they need a quick consultation with the doctor in the back, and others just need to pick up their monthly prescriptions from the counter. The shop part stays quite busy with people coming in for basic stuff like bandages, syrups, or aspirin. We keep the wooden shelves stocked as best as we can. It’s a simple setup, nothing too modern or high-tech. There are a couple of plastic chairs for people to wait on while the pharmacist looks for their medicine in the drawers. Sometimes the line gets a bit long, especially in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and picking up things on their way. We’ve been at this spot for a while, and the neighborhood has changed a lot around us with new buildings, but we stay the same. We don’t go for any of that corporate style; it’s just a local shop where you can talk to the person behind the counter. We know which medicines are running low and when the next delivery is coming. It’s a lot of paperwork and counting strips.
