Kesoram

Shivaprasad lives and works right here in the staff colony at Kesoram. His place is Quarter Number D 06, which is just a short walk from where everything happens at the plant in Basantnagar. Being a Deputy Manager means he’s always on call for something or another. Karimnagar is a bit of a distance away, so the colony is really its own little world. Life here revolves around the cement works. You wake up to the sound of the machinery and go to sleep with the same hum in the background. It’s a tight-knit group of people living in these quarters. We see each other at the local store and the small park every day. The office where Shivaprasad spends his time is full of technical manuals and dusty files. It isn't a shiny glass building like you see in the big cities. It’s a practical workspace built for getting things done. We deal with a lot of logs and maintenance schedules. The weather gets really hot in this part of Andhra Pradesh, so we mostly stay indoors during the afternoon. Everyone knows everyone else's business in the colony, which can be good and bad. We share tools and help each other out when a pipe leaks or the power goes out. It’s just a regular life in an industrial town, focused on keeping the production lines moving without any fuss.
