Kesoram Cement

Our small hub for Kesoram Cement is situated at Quarter Number D0-8 in the Basantnagar Staff Colony. This is part of the Karimnagar district in Andhra Pradesh. Life in the colony is fairly predictable, which most of us actually like. You get up, walk over to the site, and start the day's tasks. D0-8 is a modest space where we keep track of the local operations and handle the minor details that keep the larger plant running. The furniture is old and the fans creak a bit when they’re on high speed. It’s not the kind of place you’d see in a magazine. We have piles of folders and a few mugs for tea scattered around. The community here is very close because we all live so near to where we work. If someone is sick, a neighbor from the next quarter usually brings over some food. That’s just the way it is in Basantnagar. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make sure the inventory is correct and the workers have what they need for their shifts. It gets very dusty during the dry season, so there’s a constant battle to keep the papers clean. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just show up every day and do the work that needs doing until the sun goes down.
