Patel Textile

Patel Textile is based out in Shivrampally, over in the Kattedan area. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but it's where all the industrial stuff happens. The air always smells a bit like dust and machinery around here. Our building is just a plain structure with a big metal door that’s hard to open. Inside, we have the looms and the storage area for the yarn. It's loud when everything is running, so we have to shout to hear each other sometimes. We’ve been working with fabric for a long time. It’s what my family knows how to do. We don't have any fancy signs or big ads outside. People usually find us by word of mouth or because they've been coming here for years. The floor is concrete and gets pretty cold in the winter months. We have a small corner with a table and two chairs where we take our breaks and have tea. Most of the guys have been with us for a while, so we all know how the machines act. Sometimes they break down, and we have to spend half the day fixing a belt or a motor. It’s just part of the job. Kattedan is a busy place with trucks moving in and out at all hours. We just stay focused on our own pile of work and try to get things done on time. It's not glamorous, but it pays the bills and keeps us busy. Every day we just try to keep the machines running.
