Our place is located at Plot No 16 in Krishnamurthy Nagar, which is part of the Jeedimetla industrial zone. It’s a very busy part of town with a lot of trucks and factories all around us. We work with different kinds of color chemicals, so the warehouse usually has a bit of a faint smell of dyes and raw materials. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear your best clothes, as something usually ends up getting stained by the end of the day. We have a set routine for mixing and testing everything, though it’s all still pretty manual. The machines we use aren't the newest models, but they do the job and we’ve learned how to keep them running smoothly. We keep all our records in big paper ledgers and on an old computer that takes a while to start up in the morning. Most of the staff has been working here for years, so we’re a lot like a small family. We usually eat our lunch together in the small shaded area outside when the weather is nice enough. Sometimes a batch of color doesn't come out quite right on the first try and we have to spend the whole afternoon figuring out why. It’s just part of the daily process here. We don't do much in the way of advertising; most of our work comes from long-time connections in the local industry. We just focus on the work at hand.
