We are located in the Om Sanmati Enclave over in the Jambagh area of Hyderabad. Our work involves flowers and decorations for all sorts of events. Most of our days start very early, often before the sun is up, because that is when the fresh flowers are delivered. The floor of the shop is usually a bit wet from the buckets and there are leaves and stems everywhere while we work. It’s a lot of manual labor, cutting and tying things together. We do decorations for weddings and parties, so sometimes the shop is filled with huge frames and rolls of fabric. It can get quite chaotic when we have a big event coming up. We’ve been at this address for several years. We don't have a polished showroom, just a busy workspace where we put arrangements together. Some people just walk in off the street to buy a few roses. We spend a lot of time traveling to different venues to set everything up. It is tiring work and we are on our feet most of the day. We don't really have any fancy titles here; everyone just pitches in to get the garlands finished. It is a bit messy and there is always a lot of trash to take out at the end of the shift. We just try to keep the flowers from wilting and make sure the decorations look okay for the customers.
