Our office is located in Sachivalayanagar, specifically at H.No. S2/C-134 in Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say the address, but we are easy enough to find once you get into the neighborhood. Working here at the Irrigation and Cad Department involves a lot of coordination with farmers and land owners. We spend a good chunk of our time looking at how the water is distributed across the command areas. It’s mostly practical work, nothing too flashy. The office has that typical government feel where things move at a steady pace. Sometimes it gets quite busy when the new irrigation schedules come out. We see a lot of local folks coming in to ask about water turns or land development matters. The building itself is right in the middle of a residential area, so it’s quieter than being right in the city center. We keep the registers updated and try to make sure everyone gets their fair share of the water supply. It’s not always easy because the weather doesn't always cooperate. My desk is usually covered in site plans and old surveys that need checking. We don't really do much in the way of advertising because people know where we are when they need us. Usually, there’s a pot of tea going and someone is talking about the latest rains or the canal levels. We just stay focused on the daily tasks and managing the water resources as best as we can.
