If you’re ever around Panjagutta, you’ll find Iris Smart Card Ltd. up on the second floor of Pawani Plaza. Our address is 6-3-658/A, and we’ve been operating out of this building for a good bit of time. We deal with smart cards mostly. That covers everything from ID cards for offices to those little chips you see in all sorts of devices these days. It’s a lot of technical work, but we try to keep the atmosphere in the office pretty relaxed. We aren’t one of those high-pressure tech firms. It’s mostly just a group of us making sure the printing is crisp and the encoding on the cards actually works before they leave the door. The plaza gets quite a bit of foot traffic, and we get all kinds of people coming in with questions about how to set up card systems for their small businesses. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything. Most people find us because someone else told them we’re the ones in Panjagutta who handle this kind of thing. We just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes the printers act up or the software is being stubborn, but we get through it. It’s a practical business. We make the cards, we check the cards, and we get them to the people who need them. Being on the second floor gives us a bit of a view of the street, which is nice when we take a break.
