Institute For Electronic Governance

We are based in Flat 302 of the Anitha Apartments over in Sainathpuram. It’s right in the middle of A. S. Rao Nagar in Secunderabad, so there is always a lot going on outside. Being in an apartment means the Institute For Electronic Governance feels more like a small workshop than a big institution. We have three rooms that we’ve converted into workspaces. The kitchen area is mostly used for keeping the water filter and some coffee supplies. Most of the people who come to see us are looking for help with government portals or learning how to use new digital tools for their jobs. The balcony overlooks the street, and it’s a good place to take a break when your eyes get tired from the computer. It gets a bit crowded when we have more than five or six people in at once, but we make it work by moving the chairs around. The neighbors in the apartment building are used to us by now. We try to keep the noise down, though the printers can be a bit loud when they get going. It is a convenient spot because the bus stop is just a short walk away. We’ve been here for several years, and the flat has become a familiar place for many local workers. It’s just a regular workplace where we get through the daily tasks. We’ve got a few potted plants on the balcony that we try to keep alive. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves of files.
