Our office for Ingersoll Rand International (I) Ltd. is located at Ligh 16 in the Aphb Colony of Balaji Nagar. Kukatpally is a massive area, always growing and changing, but our little spot in the colony feels a bit more settled. It’s a ground-floor space that used to be a residence, so it has a bit of a homey feel, even with all the filing cabinets and computer wires running everywhere. We’ve got a small front area where we park our scooters and sometimes a delivery truck squeezes in for a bit. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze because of how we’ve had to stack the inventory. We’ve got parts for all sorts of equipment tucked into every available corner. The staff here is small, mostly just people who have lived in Hyderabad for years and know the city inside out. We don’t go in for big corporate slogans or anything like that. We just focus on getting the right parts to the right people. The afternoon sun hits the front window pretty hard, so we usually have the blinds pulled down. It makes the room a bit dark, but it keeps things cool enough to work. We’ve got a ritual of getting tea from the stall down the road every day around four. It’s a chance to step away from the screens and just talk for a minute before finishing up the day’s work.
