Down in Phase 1 of IDA Jeedimetla, you’ll find us at D-111, 18. This industrial area in Hyderabad is always full of smoke and noise, and our workshop fits right in. We spend our days making electrodes. It’s a process that involves a lot of heat and heavy equipment. The floor is concrete and stays stained from the work we do. We have a small team of workers who know their way around the coating machines and the ovens. In the summer, the heat inside the shed can be quite something, so we drink a lot of water and try to stay in the shade when we aren't at the machines. There’s a lot of metal clanging and the sound of trucks reversing in the lane outside. We aren't a big corporation, just a local outfit trying to keep the production line moving. Our office is a tiny room with a desk that’s seen better days. We keep our records in physical registers because it’s easier for us that way. Most of our neighbors in Jeedimetla are doing similar industrial work, so there’s a sense of community here. We share tools sometimes or help each other out if a truck gets stuck. It’s a long day from start to finish, but we’ve got a good rhythm going. We just focus on getting the electrodes boxed and ready for whoever needs them. It’s honest work in a busy part of town.
