Mehboob Gunj is a place that never really stays quiet, and that’s where you’ll find us at Hyderabad Automotives. Our address is 15-9-373/2, and it’s a spot we’ve called home for a long time. The shop is filled with the smell of oil and old metal, which is something you just get used to after a week of working here. We spend most of our time looking at engines or trying to find that one specific part someone needs for an older vehicle. It’s not a clean job, and by the end of the day, there is grease under everyone’s fingernails. We don’t spend money on big signs or bright lights. Most people find us because they were told by a friend or they’ve been coming here since their first car. The traffic in this part of Telangana can be a nightmare, especially in the afternoons, so we usually drink a lot of tea while waiting for the delivery trucks to arrive with the new stock. There are stacks of tires and boxes everywhere you look inside the workshop. It might look like chaos to an outsider, but we have a way of finding whatever is needed for the customer. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay out of the heat. It’s a basic business, nothing more and nothing less. We just keep the doors open and see who rolls in with a problem to solve.
