Vijay Laxmi Hardware & Plywood

Down in Goshamahal, things are always crowded and moving fast. Our shop is located at 5-5-1033/1. We have got tall stacks of plywood and boxes of hinges and screws everywhere you look. It is a bit of a maze inside if you do not know your way around. My father started this place a long time ago. We spend our mornings unloading trucks that come in from the suppliers. Plywood is very heavy and the wood dust gets into everything, but it is just what we do every day. People come in looking for very specific screws or a certain thickness of board for a cabinet. We try to find it in the piles. Sometimes it takes us a minute to dig it out. It is a noisy neighborhood with all the carts and vehicles. Customers are mostly local carpenters and regular folks fixing up their own houses. We do not have a fancy showroom with lights. It is just basic shelves and raw wood. We keep the shop open early in the morning. If you need a door handle or some strong glue, we probably have it tucked away in a corner somewhere. The floor is usually covered in fresh sawdust. It smells like cut wood in here all the time. We do not do much talking, just getting the customer orders filled and loaded. Goshamahal is a busy place for trade and we are just one part of the street. Vijay Laxmi is the name on the board outside. It is faded from the sun but we are still here. We keep it simple.
