GD Upadhyaya & Co

GD Upadhyaya & Co is located right in the middle of Siddiamber Bazar. If you know Hyderabad, you know how crowded this area gets. We are on the second floor of Door No 15-1-53. It’s quite close to the Andhra Bank, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us. The bazar is always noisy with people moving goods and rickshaws honking, but once you come up to the second floor, it gets a little bit quieter. We’ve been here for a good amount of time now. The office is basically just a few rooms filled with desks, chairs, and lots of filing cabinets. We don't have any big signs outside, just the usual nameplate. Dealing with the heat in the summer can be a bit much, but we have our fans going all day. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful if you’re carrying anything heavy. Most of our day is spent looking at ledgers and talking to people who drop by. It’s a very traditional way of working, I suppose. We like being in the bazar because everything we need is right within walking distance. You can find good chai just around the corner, which helps during those long afternoons. It's a simple operation we run here, nothing too complicated. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep up with the daily flow of the market.
