G. R. Gifts

G. R. Gifts is basically run out of a house in Dattatreya Colony, Asif Nagar. The house number is 12/1/331/99, which sounds complicated but it’s easy enough to find once you’re in the colony. We started this because we liked the idea of having a place where people could find something nice for their friends or family. The space is filled with all sorts of things like colorful wrapping paper, ribbons, picture frames, and small knick-knacks. It’s not a big commercial store with bright lights; it’s more of a cozy, slightly cluttered space. We spend a lot of time helping people pick out the right card or figuring out how to wrap a strangely shaped present. Sometimes the local kids come in just to look at the toys or the shiny things on the shelves. Asif Nagar is a lively neighborhood, and we see the same faces walking by every day. We’ve got shelves lining the walls, and sometimes things get a bit dusty if they’ve been sitting there for a while, so we try to stay on top of that. It’s a quiet way to make a living, and we enjoy being the spot people think of when a birthday or an anniversary comes up. We don’t have any big corporate goals, we just want to keep the shelves stocked with interesting things and help our neighbors find what they need. It's just a small family-run thing.
