Our school is located on Quilla Road in the Barkatpura area. It’s a busy part of the city, and Fluorescent School sits right in the middle of it all. The building has been here for years. It’s not the newest place on the block, but it’s sturdy and serves us well. We have several floors, so there’s a lot of climbing stairs every day. It keeps us fit, I suppose. The street outside is always full of life, with shops and people moving about. We don't have a huge campus, so we use every bit of space we have. The classrooms are filled with old wooden desks that have seen many students over the years. We don't go in for fancy decorations. A few maps on the wall and a chalkboard are usually enough. Our teachers are hardworking people who take the bus or ride their scooters to get here. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. We just open the gates in the morning and close them in the evening. Most of our students live within walking distance, so the neighborhood feels very connected. We deal with the usual school stuff—grading papers, ringing the bell, and making sure the water coolers are filled. It’s a straightforward, honest kind of place. We just focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the kids are safe and learning.
