About Welcome Battery Works – Engineering in Hyderabad
Welcome Battery Works has been sitting here in Old Feelkhana for a long time. This area has changed quite a bit since we first opened the doors at 15/1/373/1, but we’re still here doing the same thing. Mostly, our days are filled with the smell of lead and battery acid. It’s a messy job, and our hands are usually stained by the end of the shift. We handle all sorts of batteries, from the small ones for scooters to the big heavy ones that go into trucks. If a battery is dead, people bring it in hoping we can give it a bit more life with a slow charge. The shop is narrow and the shelves are heavy because of all that weight. We don’t have much room for a waiting area, so people usually just stand on the sidewalk while we check their terminals or swap out an old unit. It’s loud because of the traffic outside and the hum of the chargers inside. Sometimes the cables get tangled and we have to spend ten minutes sorting them out before we can even start work. My brother and I run the place, and we don't really have a set routine other than showing up early. We see a lot of the same faces, people from the neighborhood who’ve been coming to us for years whenever their engine won't turn over on a cold morning. It’s just honest work in a dusty part of town.
