Dr G Purushottam Rao

Down by the GPO in Hyderabad, you’ll find my office. I’m Dr. G Purushottam Rao. This part of the city is always full of energy, with the post office right there and all the people rushing to get their errands done. My space is pretty basic. I have my desk, a couple of chairs for patients, and a shelf full of old medical books that I still look at from time to time. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but I never seem to find the time to get it done. It doesn't really matter anyway, as long as the place is clean and functional. I’ve lived in Hyderabad my whole life, so I’m used to the heat and the crowds. My practice is built on people who have been coming to see me for decades. I don't use a computer for everything; I still like writing notes by hand in my registers. It feels more personal that way. The staff here is small, just one or two people who help me keep things organized. We don't have a mission statement or any of that corporate talk. We just open the doors in the morning and see who comes in. It’s a steady way to live, being part of the daily life near the GPO. I don't plan on changing much about how I do things because it works for me and it works for my patients. It is just life. I am quite content with how everything turned out.
