About Shivam Glass – Building & Construction Material in Hyderabad
We've been at the Annapurna complex in Dilsukhnagar for a while now. The shop isn't huge but we keep it organized. Dealing with glass all day means you have to be careful with every movement. Sometimes customers come in with specific sizes for windows or mirrors and we get to cutting right away. The noise from the main road is constant but you eventually get used to it. It gets very dusty here, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the sheets. Most days it’s just about getting the measurements right so nobody has to come back twice to fix an error. We see a lot of people from around the neighborhood. It's a busy spot. We handle different types of glass, nothing too fancy, just the regular stuff people need for their homes or small shops. Sometimes we have to move heavy crates which is a bit of a workout for our backs. The lighting in here could be better but it works for what we do. It’s a straightforward job without any frills. If a piece breaks during cutting, well, that's just part of the waste we have to deal with. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure things go out on time. The shop floor is usually covered in little slivers so we have to wear thick shoes. It’s just how it is here. People know where to find us in the complex. We try to keep things moving. It’s not a glamorous job but it keeps us busy from morning till evening.
