Dilshad Embroidery

This shop is right in the middle of Chappal Bazar in Khachiguda. The house number is 3-2-22. If you know Himayatnagar, you know how busy this whole Hyderabad area gets. We are surrounded by the sounds of the market and people shouting. Inside, it’s all about the needles and the thread. We have different colored spools everywhere you look. It’s a bit messy with all the scraps of fabric on the floor, but that is just how embroidery work is. We spend hours hunched over the frames, making sure the patterns are going on right. It’s hard on the eyes after a while, especially when the light starts to fade in the evening. Chappal Bazar is always crowded, so there is constant movement outside our door. We don't have a fancy display, just the work we are currently doing. Most people who come in are locals or regulars who have been coming to us for years. We just keep our heads down and focus on the stitching. Sometimes we have to rush to get things done when someone is waiting. The air smells like old fabric and tea. It’s a small space, but we make it work. Himayatnagar is a good place to be if you want to be where the action is. Dilshad Embroidery has been here for a long time, and we just keep doing what we know how to do one stitch at a time.
