Department Of Mechanical Engineering

This isn't your typical office building; it’s actually D 10/2 in the NIT Staff Quarters at NIT Warangal, over in Kazipet. Since this is part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, you can imagine there’s always something related to machines or designs being talked about. It feels more like a home than a workplace because it’s right there in the staff housing area. We have books piled up on almost every surface and probably too many pens that don't work. The students sometimes come by if they can't find us on the main campus, and we don't mind that much. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate, but it’s peaceful once you get here. We spend a lot of time reading, grading, or just trying to fix things that break around the place. There’s a ceiling fan that clicks rhythmically, which you get used to after a while. We aren't a big corporation with polished floors; we are just people who like mechanical stuff and happen to work at the university. It’s a simple routine of morning tea, some hours of work, and watching the campus life go by outside the window. We’ve been here in Kazipet for years, and it's become quite familiar. The trees around the quarters keep it cool even when the sun is really hitting the pavement hard. It's a steady life.
