Myk Spinning Industries Ltd.

Srinivasa Nagar is where we are, specifically Plot No 8/3/214/21. It’s a bit of a long address to write out on envelopes. Myk Spinning is a busy place. There is always white fluff from the cotton flying around the air, so we have to sweep the floors every couple of hours or it gets everywhere. The spinning machines are long and they make a rhythmic clicking sound that you stop hearing after a while. We have a lot of spools turning at once. It’s a bit noisy, so we usually have to shout to be heard over the motors. The lighting isn't the best in the back corner, but the workers know the machines by feel mostly. We get the raw material in big bales and it leaves here as yarn. It’s a lot of steps in between. We have a small yard where the workers park their cycles and bikes. In the summer, it gets incredibly hot under the tin roof, so we have these big exhaust fans that rattle. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. You just walk through the main door and you're right in the middle of the production. It’s how we’ve always done it. The neighbors are mostly other industrial sheds, so nobody complains about the noise. We keep the machines running through the night sometimes when there is a big order to finish. It’s just how spinning goes and we stay busy.
