Our company is located at 16/A, Akhilesh Nivas in Sikh Village, which is an area that has changed a lot over the years. We handle cotton ginning and oil production here at Kamala Ginning And Oil Industries Pvt. Ltd. It is a lot of mechanical work and the machines are quite large and loud when they are all running at the same time. The air often smells like raw cotton and seeds. We have been in this building for a long time and the walls show the age of the business. It is a practical space, not meant for showing off to visitors. We have a small office area, but most of the activity happens out in the processing sections. People come in and out with deliveries, and there is always a truck being loaded or unloaded near the entrance. The staff here has been with us for a while, so everyone knows their job without much talking. We do not really have a lot of decorative stuff around. Just the tools and equipment we need for the ginning process. Some days the dust from the cotton gets everywhere, and we have to wear masks to keep from breathing it in. It is heavy work and we are usually pretty tired by the time we lock up the gate for the night. We just keep the wheels turning as best as we can and focus on the daily tasks.
