It’s an old part of Hyderabad, and the houses are built very close to each other. My workspace is right in the middle of the house, which means I’m always at the center of whatever else is happening with the family. It’s not the quietest place to work, but I’ve gotten used to the sound of the television in the other room or the neighbors chatting across the balconies. I use a small table that used to be in the dining room as my main desk. Malimet is a lively area, and there is always something going on outside. I spend a lot of time on the phone or typing away on my old laptop. The lighting isn't great, so I have a bright desk lamp that I keep on even during the day.
