C. M. Eshwar Lal Laundry Services is our family business over in the A C Guards area of Khairatabad. Our place is at D. No:10-1-819, and you can usually see steam coming out of the windows. We’ve been washing and pressing clothes here for years. It’s a hot and humid job, especially during the monsoon when the clothes take forever to dry. We have big basins and pressing tables that have seen a lot of use. My father started this, and now we all help out with the washing, drying, and folding. We handle everything from regular shirts to heavy linens. People from the neighborhood bring their bundles to us, and we try to have them ready in a couple of days. Sometimes we get behind when the power goes out or if there’s a water problem, but we do what we can. The workspace is a bit cramped with piles of laundry everywhere, but we know where every single piece belongs. We don't use fancy chemicals or expensive machines, just soap, water, and a lot of elbow grease. It’s simple work, but it’s how we make our living. Most of our customers are regulars who have been coming to us since they were kids. We just stay busy and keep the irons moving from morning until late evening. It is a loud place with the fans going, but it is home to us.
