Our spot is in the IDA Uppal area, specifically at Plot No. E8/C8. It’s a pretty standard industrial plot. We’ve got a big gate that stays open during the day. Inside, it’s mostly about conveyors and handling systems. We spend a lot of time looking at layouts and bolting metal frames together. The workshop has a high ceiling, which is good because it gets very stuffy in the summer months. We’ve got a team that’s been together for years. We know who’s good at welding and who’s better at the assembly part of the job. Uppal is a crowded place to get to in the mornings, but once you’re inside the industrial estate, it’s all business. We don’t spend much on decorations or paint. The walls are a bit scuffed from moving big parts around. We have a small room where we keep the drawings and the computer. Most of our time is spent out on the floor though. There’s always someone hammering something or the sound of a drill going off in the background. We take our tea breaks together at eleven. It’s a chance to relax before the next batch of work starts. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just building systems that help move things from point A to point B. It’s practical work. We don't use fancy jargon. We just show up, do the work, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s a decent living and we like being in this part of town.
