We are based out of Serene Chambers over on Road Number 7 in Banjara Hills. It’s a pretty well-known part of Hyderabad, so people usually don't have trouble finding the building. Being at Shantha Biotechnics means we spend a lot of time indoors. The office isn't overly big, but it’s where all the paperwork gets filed and the plans are made. The traffic on Road Number 7 can be a real headache in the evenings, so most of us try to stay a bit later to let it clear out. It’s a nice enough area with some trees around, which makes the walk from the car a bit better. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, some lab equipment, and a lot of files. We aren’t big on fancy decor. We’ve got some old chairs that have seen better days but they’re comfortable enough for long shifts. The air conditioning sometimes makes a weird rattling noise, but you get used to it after an hour. It’s a professional environment but we keep it pretty relaxed among ourselves. We mostly just focus on the science and the logistics of what we do. It’s not a flashy job. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the weekend while we wait for reports to print. It’s a steady kind of life here in the chambers. We’ve been here for a long time and the walls could probably tell some stories.
